For the owners of Stanley, the location was never in question. They loved where they lived, tucked into one of Dicky Beach’s most sought-after pockets, close to the coast and the lifestyle that comes with it. The existing house, however, was no longer the home they imagined for their future.
Rather than leave a location they loved, they chose to start again.
Designed by Icon Building Design, with interiors by Penelope J Design Group and construction by Gold Leaf Constructions, Stanley was conceived as a true forever home. One that feels relaxed and distinctly coastal today, while being thoughtfully planned for the years ahead.
A key part of the brief was flexibility. The two-storey home has been designed so the owners can comfortably live across both levels now, while allowing their lifestyle to shift predominantly downstairs or upstairs as their needs change over time. The ground floor incorporates a generous living, dining and kitchen zone, guest bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe, laundry and pantry, alongside outdoor dining, seating and the pool. Upstairs, a second living area is joined by the primary suite, additional bedroom, office and balcony. Provision for a future lift was also incorporated into the design.
The home takes its cues from its beachside setting without becoming overly thematic. Familiar pitched roof forms, horizontal cladding, generous openings and light exterior finishes give the home a relaxed coastal character, while raked ceilings bring additional volume to the main living spaces.

Inside, the interiors bring another layer of personality. Every finish feels carefully considered, but never overly precious. Soft coastal tones are balanced by perfectly placed pops of colour, texture and character, creating spaces that feel warm, individual and genuinely lived-in. It is a home with charm; playful in the right moments, refined in others, and cohesive throughout.
Outside, the living spaces extend naturally towards the garden, covered entertaining areas and pool, creating the easy connection between indoors and out that suits life by the coast.
Completed in April 2026, Stanley is ultimately a home about staying somewhere you love, replacing what no longer worked with something considered for the way you want to live now, and flexible enough to remain home for decades to come.
